Equality Kansas Disbands as Statewide Queer Advocacy Organization

After existing for over three years, the Equality Kansas (EK) Board of Directors voted on April 5 to disband the organization. The EK Board also voted to divide its treasury balance among seven political organizations around Kansas. These organizations, which includes FHA, will receive approximately $265 to use for activism purposes in their respective towns. Since EK was not incorporated, and since the Equality Kansas name was not owned by anyone, activists who wish to start up a new statewide organization using the EK name are free to do so.
