Event at Barnes & Noble, 6130 SW 17th Street (17th & Wanamaker).
Located in the Café. 5-7 minute readings of lesbigay-trans literature
reflecting the diversity of our community. 7:00pm - 8:00 pm. Please

Thursday, June 19th
"A Celebration of Women '97" Women's Coffeehouse, housed at the
Metropolitan Community Church of Topeka, 2425 SE Indiana Avenue (Corner
of 25th and Indiana Avenue). Featuring female artists: Allison Faling of
Lawrence, belly-dancer Shaheena of Lawrence, Annette Billings of Topeka,
Celeste Chapman of Kansas City, Rozz Smith of Kansas City, San Gordon &
the LoveCats of Lawrence, Roberta Woods (craftswoman) of Lawrence. Refreshments
by Sister Oma of Topeka. Comic emcee Janet Pryor of Lawrence. Cost: A donation
between $5.00-10.00 is requested. This celebration of women is not an event
just for women. Men are encouraged to attend and show their support of
our sisters! 7:00 pm doors open. 8:00 pm show. Hosted by 3 GALS Coffeehouse
of Lawrence; use of building donated by M.C.C. of Topeka.
Friday, June 20th
Romanovsky & Phillips. A gay singing comedic duo sure to entertain
both women and men!
Tickets can now be purchased for this exciting event! To ensure that you will be able to enjoy this night of laughter and entertainment we encourage you to pick up a ticket today! The seating is limited so it is strictly first-come first-serve. Tickets are available at the following places: The Crystal Window at 4008 SW Huntoon; The Metropolitan Community Church on Sundays (or call Jonathan at 913- 271-1648); The Topeka AIDS Project office, 708 SW 6th St.,(913) 232-3100; or Streetside Records in Manhattan at 1231 Moro, Manhattan (in Aggieville).

Your tickets will be held for you at the door on the night of the event. Note any preregistration forms received after all seats are filled will be returned with payment.
The Theatrix Dinner Theatre is located in the Gage Village Shopping Center, corner of Huntoon and Gage, near The Crystal Window. Please note that dinner will not be a part of the festivities. A cash bar will be available. DOORS OPEN AT 7:00 to allow for a social hour, with the performance starting at 8:00. Hope to see you there!
Saturday, June 21st
Pride Parade at Capital. Route: South steps of capital; North on Jackson
to 8th; East on 8th to Kansas Avenue; South on Kansas Avenue to 10th; return
to South Capital steps for brief presentation by community leaders. Parade
starts at 11:00 am
Picnic at Reynold's Lodge, Lake Shawnee.
Entry is free but donations are encouraged to cover costs and raise money
for next year's events. Starting time: 6:00 pm. Note: the youth group "STEY"
(Strive To Express Yourself) will sponsor a variety show at the picnic.

Sunday, June 22nd
The Metropolitan Community Church is a proud sponsor of Pride Week.
They will provide all soft drinks and have donated money toward the food.
MCC also invites the lesbigay-trans community to attend worship services
at 10:00 am or 6:00 pm. The worship will focus on lesbigay-trans pride.
Note: Unity & Pride invites ALL accepting spiritual communities to let us know of your plans to celebrate Pride Week '97 and we will be happy to include them as a part of Pride Week advertising.
Unity & Pride Alliance meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm at the T.A.P. office, 708 SW 6th, Topeka. The UPA is an independent organization sponsored by the Topeka-Lawrence PFLAG, the Metropolitan Community Church and the Topeka AIDS Project.
