BGLS Welcomes All
by Paul Donovan, BGLS President

Hello, everyone. As President of K-State's Bisexual, Gay, and Lesbian Society (BGLS), I would like to send greetings from the group to everyone.

BGLS is very excited about the coming school year. Our past president, Andy Naylor, did a great job of fortifying the foundations of our group and keeping our participation going. We are now poised on the brink of a real expansion in membership and activities. We have already begun the process of becoming more visible on campus. For example, during Coming Out Week this year, we are co-sponsoring the film Stonewall with the Union Program Council, to be shown in the Union on October 9 and 10.

But campus activity is only one facet of our group. We have also begun serious outreach to the younger members of our queer community, making contacts with Manhattan High School. And we are entering our second year of Icebreakers, a confidential, comfortable, discussion/support group especially designed for those newer members of the community, or for those that need to discuss various issues important to us.

The first BGLS meeting of the semester is on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 6:00 pm, in room 213 of the K-State Union. We welcome any who are interested to attend.
