New Flint Hills Alliance Officers Hold First Meeting
by Dakota Saunders
FHA’s November 7 meeting began with the changing of the guard as former FHA President Bill Smith swore in the 1996-97 FHA officers. They are: Penny Cullers, President; Vern Warner, Vice-President; David, Secretary; and Marianne, Treasurer.
Penny began the meeting by sharing goals she has for FHA. As President, she plans to listen to diverse voices in our community, and to seek meaning in our collective and individual glb voices. Penny hopes we can all respect each other and put aside our disputes. She wants to make FHA meetings fun and educational, and she hopes to set meeting agendas based on what the FHA community wants.
The new FHA officers are learning to be officers, Penny stated, and she asked that the community bear with them as they learn and grow. Penny hopes that we can celebrate our diversity and celebrate our saneness. The entire community is encouraged to complete the questionnaire being circulated at FHA meetings and potlucks.
